AH Player Transfer Policy

Last Updated on October 17, 2023 by ahadmin

The goals of USA Volleyball include “providing an opportunity for members to participate and improve their volleyball skills.” The following Player Transfer Policy provides an opportunity for individual Junior players to continue development of their playing skills, compete at a higher level, experience mainland competition, and the opportunity to be scouted by collegiate programs.

The Aloha Region volleyball season begins on September 1 and culminates at the conclusion of the last Aloha Region Junior Regional Championship in the respective season. The post-season period begins the day after the last regional final of the same year.

No transfers will be allowed after the competitive season has begun. This is defined as “the first sanctioned Aloha Region or USA Volleyball event of the competitive season” and is binding on all Aloha Region clubs and personnel.

Transfers would be considered under extenuating circumstances. A player can represent only one club during the Season. A change in geographical location of the family due to a change in job, military, scholastic or inner-collegiate status may receive special consideration. No player may participate in different Qualifying events with different clubs/teams.

If the player/coach has participated in a sanctioned Aloha Region or USA Volleyball event, there willbe no transfer allowed until the conclusion of the last Aloha Region Junior Regional Championship in the respective season.

Once an athlete has participated in a National Qualifier Event (Regional or NQ) they may not be released for the rest of the season to another club.

The policy is not intended for the formation of conglomerate teams to participate in tournaments in or out of the State of Hawaii.

The player, or in the case of a minor, the parents or guardian, desiring to transfer is required to submit a properly completed and fully executed Player Transfer Form. No releases will be completed without written release from the current club director(s) of the club that is listed on the athlete’s USA Volleyball membership card. Without a formal written release, the junior athlete will be prohibited from being rostered with another USAV team during the same season, unless the junior athlete relocates outside of the Aloha Region.

If a junior athlete relocates outside of the Aloha Region during the season in question, the Aloha Region may release and transfer a junior athlete without the Player Transfer Form. Proof of residency must be provided by the family at the time of the release/transfer request.

The Aloha Region strongly recommends that all junior clubs have written policies regarding Deposits and Refunds along with a Club Release Policy. A copy of both policies should be provided to the parents/guardians to address deposit refunds and what steps are required by each club to facilitate a club release once the season begins. The family is responsible to investigate. All legal commitments and/or personal business made between the family and the club will remain the responsibility of the related parties.
